James Harris Expert PageBegan photography business in 1975 as one of the few "Environmental Photographers"in the country, I Photographed people in natural surroundings, as opposed to a studio. Radical idea then. I learned location work by photographing native Americans on the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations. I worked solely in medium format (6X7) film for over 25 years, going digital in 2003. I have a degree in Radio TV Film from Kansas University and have worked as a film editor, a television producer and a sports editor in my prior lives. I was born in Ft. Madison, Iowa and moved to AZ in 1970, only staying because on my scouting visit, I had a flat tire and somehow found a job during the time it took to have the tire fixed. Went back to Iowa, packed and headed west. pened the studio in Dec. of 1975 and am close to retiring. Overhead and rent have gotten too high these days and I might just go back to my location roots in the near future. Recently photographed a UFO while doing a summer dance event at a ski lodge. Weird!
